I’m going to get a projector tv so that I can have a 6 foot screen. I’m also really looking forward to hooking it up with the wii and playing the shooters that are coming out with their zapper gun like resident evil and sega’s ghost squad. My question is, are there any other interactive console’s or hookups that would work well? I saw a console similar to wii a few years back for sports gaming? I’m hoping to turn my living room into a fun arcade experience. A good golf simulator game would be awesome too. Any help or advice would be great, thank you.

Big Pong. Isn’t that what we all want?
Your local golf driving range (or more likely a local arcade) may have the golf simulator you seek… that is if you are looking for an authentic golf experience. As a golfer I do not like the Wii’s golf game because it rewards a poor swing.
Once you have the name of a golf sim you like from your local arcade or driving range, you can look it up on eBay where many arcades and collectors sell their setups.
I would also recommend you consider a MAME setup for arcade games. While they are not interactive in the Wii sense, they are still fun and would play amazingly well on a projected screen. Get a two person arcade joystick, or even a four person setup to get the entire room on board.
If you are looking for the “best buy” gaming/home cinema projector, it’s a refurbished Infocus SP4805 DLP projector which is selling for $325 at infocus.com > store >clearance center > refurbished home projectors > SP 4805.
Here’s a sample movie shot of “A Good Woman” on a 92″ diagonal wall/screen with the SP 4805 placed on a coffee table some 12.5 ft. from the wall:
