Stephan S asked:
moving to portland soon and wondering if theres any fun boardwalks in oregon to visit. carnival type places with attractions like the boardwalk in santa cruz. what about waterparks any raging waters or waterslide park in portland? or other fun things to do?
The only place that has them is Seaside, Oregon, on the beach. Great place!
Oregon really has nothing like Santa Cruz’s boardwalk, but there are some nice beach communities. Seaside has some of the shopping and a few attractions and Newport had a section of their area which has Ripley’s Believe it or not Museum and a Wax works. Both cities have aquariums and Newport has an undersea garden tour.
For amusement parks, the closest would be Oaks Park in Portland. But for water parks, since the one south of Salem closed this year, your best bet is to go north to Federal Way in Washington (just south of Seattle) and go to the Wild Waves and Enchanted Village. From Portland it’s less than a 3 hour drive (closer to 2 hours if no traffic).
Below are the links to the various attractions I mentioned above.
